Lido Di Jesolo (often also called Lido De Jesolo) is a wonderful italian holiday resort on the north east coast of Italy in the Veneto region close to Venice.
Perfect for family holidays and for couples young and old, the sea-front on the Adriatic sea boasts a long (approx 10 miles) beach of soft golden sand and a warm clear sea for paddling and swimming.
Most sea front hotels and those close to the sea front have their own strips of beach available to their guests, with sunloungers, deckchairs, umbrellas and showers often inclusive within the hotel room tariff.
The peak holiday season is July to September with many Italians choosing to holiday during August, however many hotels are open all year round as Lido Di Jesolo provides an excellent base for day or evening trips into Venice.
Travelling from Lido Di Jesolo to nearby Venice
Inclusive bus and boat tickets are available from many hotels to Venice, travelling from and returning to Jesolo at regular intervals all through the day and into the night, typically for under 20 Euros return per person using the nearby port Punta Sabbioni.
What is there to do in Lido Di Jesolo?
The main street through Lido Di Jesolo is bustling with energy during the peak months with people visiting the numerous restaurants, cafes, bars and shops and enjoying the wonderful italian atmosphere. In the evening the main street is for pedestrians only, and there are frequent parades adding to the atmosphere.
There is a nearby water park, pleasure boat trips, mini golf, go-karting and more to keep the family busy when not sunbathing, swimming, eating, drinking or taking a siesta (afternoon nap Italian style!).
Getting to Lido Di Jesolo from the UK
Jesolo is served by Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE), on the mainland about 45 minutes by taxi or bus to the resort. Most hotels will be happy to arrange transfers by taxi in advance if booking direct.
Flights from the UK are provided by Easyjet and British Airways from most airports. A typical flight from London Gatwick to Venice Marco Polo Airport takes approximately 2 hours.
